DSEI 2013: Sophie's choice for Thales

A new lightweight variant of the SOPHIE multifunction surveillance and target locating cameras has been launched by Thales UK at the DSEI exhibition.

The company is displaying the SOPHIE Lite camera, which has a weight of just 1.6kg - 2kg lighter than the SOPHIE UF camera that was launched in 2009. Thales UK said the new variant is designed for force protection, forward observation, forward air control, covert surveillance, asset protection and homeland security.
