US Army lays out forthcoming vehicle protection capabilities
With an eye toward better protecting US Army soldiers inside ground combat vehicles, the service is moving out with plans to develop and field three new protection capabilities over the next four years.
The service is currently working to field mature active protection systems on its fleet of combat vehicles — a capability designed to shoot down incoming rocket-propelled grenades and anti-tank guided weapons.
Next up, though, are three programmes of record to improve signature management, provide advanced reactive armour tiles and a laser warning system.
