Australia’s Land 400 lacks guidance
As industry bids for Australia’s Land 400 Phase 2 Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle programme, companies are looking to keep their offerings flexible due to ‘uncertainties’ about the direction of the project.
Four bidders are vying for the requirement for a total of 225 Combat Reconnaissance Vehicles (CRV), which will replace the Light Armoured Vehicles (ASLAV) currently in service with the Australian Army.
The Land 400 programme seeks to eventually replace both the ASLAV and M113AS4 armoured personnel carrier, with the ASLAV replacement taking priority due to obsolescence factors.
However, one bidder told Shephard it was difficult to determine an appropriate solution
