DefExpo 2020: M777 is going great guns in India
A total of 29 M777A2 towed howitzers have been delivered to India to date, with the weapons being delivered according to schedule. Interestingly, India might also have an option to extend the current calibre of the L/39 barrel in the future too thanks to local industry.
Speaking to Shephard at DefExpo 2020, Paul West, BAE Systems’ Indian campaign director, said that 64 howitzers were programmed to be delivered to the Indian Army this year. Some were already handed over in early February.
The order is on track to be completed by June 2021, West explained.
