China developing new tank gun
China is developing a new 125mm tank gun, according to an article published by Popular Science on 20 June 2015.
The 127th Ordnance Institute at the Taiyuan-based North University of China handed over a demonstrator gun to the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) in a ceremony on 10 June. Institute officials claimed the cannon would have the longest range, highest velocity and greatest penetration power of any 120mm or 125mm cannon in the world.
At the ceremony the new gun was called multipurpose, perhaps indicating it will also fire anti-tank missiles.
