Bhutan acquires Puma for UN missions
Bhutan has ordered, Shephard has learned, around 20 Puma M36 Mk5 4x4 protected mobility vehicles for use in United Nations stabilisation missions.
The vehicles should be delivered within the next five months. Bhutan first participated in UN peacekeeping operations in late 2014.
Pretoria-based OTT Technologies designs, develops and manufactures the M36, while India’s Ashok Leyland provides the driveline. A 220hp HA 57L 165 diesel engine gives a road speed of 100km/h and range of 800km.
Ashok Leyland also provides Stallion 4x4 automotive components for the Puma, while OTT makes the hull and integrates the vehicle in South Africa.
