BAE Systems submits ACV 1.1 bid
BAE Systems has submitted its bid for the U.S. Marine Corps Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) 1.1 programme.
The company has teamed with Iveco Defence for the ACV 1.1 design and, according to Deepak Bazaz, director of new and amphibious vehicles at BAE Systems, the genesis of the team’s ACV 1.1 offering comes from Iveco’s Centauro family of vehicles.
‘What we did was to adapt that solution to a design for an amphibious platform that used a lot of common hardware from Centauro but was really designed to be truly amphibious,’ Bazaz explained.
