BAE Systems submits LAND 400 Phase bid2
BAE Systems and Patria have submitted a bid for Australia's LAND 400 Phase 2- Mounted Combat Reconnaissance Capability programme, BAE Systems announced on 4 September.
The team has offered the AMV35 Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle (CRV), which combines Patria's Armoured Modular Vehicle (AMV) and the E35 manned turret system from BAE Systems-Hägglunds. Both systems are qualified and operated by NATO nations.
BAE Systems will act as prime contractor for the team. If selected, the team will manufacture and support the AMV35 CRV in Australia to ensure that a high level of Australian content and industry capability is developed through the programme.
Glynn Phillips, CEO, BAE Systems Australia, said: 'The AMV35 is an outstanding combat reconnaissance platform that integrates BAE Systems-Hägglunds' E35 turret onto a modern, agile, highly protected Patria AMV, both of which have attained a fearsome reputation based on their operational performance in Afghanistan. It represents a low risk and affordable step change in protection, mobility and firepower for the Australian Army in any future operations.'
