Avon will supply CBRN protection systems to Belgium, Finland and Norway
Avon Protection has received an order to supply Belgium, Finland and Norway with CBRN respiratory protection including FM50 mask systems, filters, spares and accessories. The company has announced the request on 17 December.
This is the first order Avon Protection received under the $33 million contract awarded by NATO Support & Procurement Agency (NSPA) in August.
The framework agreement enables NATO countries and partners to purchase Avon’s respiratory protection system, based around FM50, full suite of filters, MP-PAPR (Powered Air Purifying Respirator), ST53 (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) and accessories.
The FM50 is designed to protect troops in the most demanding of environments and provides operational flexibility required by NATO allies and partners forces.
It was developed in conjunction with the US DoD to counter multiple CBRN threats met in modern warfighting, anti-terrorist and peace-keeping operations.
The FM50 is the most operationally proven and widely deployed battlefield respirator in the world according to Avon Protection.
