Australian Army reservists closely integrate in TS17
Exercise Talisman Saber, held last month in Australia, saw close integration between the Army Reserve and the Regular Army. Furthermore, signifying their growing importance, reservists have been among the first Australian Army troops to receive new equipment.
During the exercise, Shephard embedded with Battle Group Cannan, which comprised 810 personnel from the Queensland-based 11th Brigade and Western Australia-based 13th Brigade. This battle group is coupled with the Townsville-based 3rd Brigade, one of three active-duty multirole combat brigades of Forces Command.
