AmSafe RPG armour for NIMR vehicles
AmSafe Bridport has signed an agreement with NIMR Automotive to offer its Tarian rocket propelled grenade (RPG) armour system as an option on NIMR’s range of military vehicles.
The collaboration will see Tarian marketed into the Middle East and North African regions where NIMR vehicles are widely deployed.
The Tarian RPG armour system is made up of a strong textile net manufactured from high-tenacity fibres. The system can be attached onto vehicles with flexible mounts as an alternative to conventional heavy, slat armour or metal bar RPG protection systems, to provide protection to crew from RPGs without adding undue weight to the vehicle.
Richard Betts, sales and marketing director, AmSafe Bridport, said: ‘The development work that we have undertaken with NIMR to showcase Tarian on its 6x6 vehicle demonstrates the adaptability of Tarian to fit a wide variety of vehicle types. The cooperative relationship that AmSafe has developed with NIMR will successfully create an integrated RPG protection system for NIMR’s range of military platforms.’
