MICRO T-2 for Finnish defence forces
Aimpoint has received a $6.84 million order from the NATO Support and Procurement Agency to supply its Micro T-2 red dot sights to the Finnish defence forces.
The contract includes sight transportation bags, with deliveries to take place by the end of 2018.
The Aimpoint Micro T-2 is a soldier-tested and combat proven sight that increases the effectiveness of the individual soldier. It weighs just over 100 grams and has an operational life on a single battery of up to 50,000 hours.
The Micro T-2 is designed to increase the speed and precision of the combatant’s use of weapon, and improve rifle usability in poor lighting conditions.
Lennart Ljungfelt, president, Aimpoint, said: ‘We are proud that the Finnish defence forces have chosen the Aimpoint Micro T-2 as a part of their national defence development programme Taistelija (Combatant).
‘The Micro T-2 is an extremely reliable sight and we know that the operators currently using that sight are very pleased. Therefore, we know that the Finnish defence forces will be satisfied with their choice.’
