AAD2014: Badger missile variant on display
The first engineering development model of the missile variant of the 8x8 Badger infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) has been put on display for the first time at the AAD exhibition in Pretoria, South Africa.
The missile variant of the Badger is fitted with four Ingwe laser-guided anti-tank guided missiles in two launchers as well as a 7.62mm Browning machine gun.
A spokesperson from Denel told Shephard that this model will be used to verify the missile variant design and will go through a complete set of tests before undertaking operational testing and evaluation by a user.
