AAD 2012: BAE Systems unveils upgraded Tactical Remote Turret
BAE Land Systems South Africa has launched an upgraded version of its Tactical Remote Turret (TRT) remote weapon station that can fire 30mm munition.
Revealed during the Africa Aerospace and Defence exhibition in Pretoria, South Africa, the system is a larger version of the company’s 25mm TRT launched during Eurosatory in 2010.
‘The latest version, which we refer to as the TRT-R30MK, has been developed with a 30mm cannon, and the engagement range is typically beyond 3km,’ Gerrie van der Merwe, business development manager at the company told Shephard at a pre-show briefing.
