3M, Schuberth work on helmets
3M Deutschland and Schuberth have partnered to develop improved ballistic head protection systems for use by military and law enforcement agencies, it was announced on 11 February.
The companies plan to develop a new generation of products to protect military and law enforcement personnel against various kinds of threats. The solutions will be aimed at the European market.
Schuberth will also distribute ballistic helmets manufactured by 3M company Ceradyne as part of the agreement.
Jan-Christian Becker, chief executive officer, Schuberth, said: ‘The agreement with 3M is an important step for us in strengthening our position in the market segment of ballistic head protection systems.’
David Cerny, head, government customers, 3M Deutschland, said: ‘Our police and military customers will benefit from this cooperation, as reliable technologies of both companies are immediately available. Our goal is to offer lighter weight, effective protection in the face of growing threats.’
