The US Coast Guard (USCG) has awarded a contract to the Defense Solutions division of Curtiss-Wright to provide Air Data Computer technology for its MH-65 Dolphin helicopter fleet, the company announced on 31 August.
The contract has an initial value of around $3 million. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2015 and complete in 2019.
The Air Data Computers provide airspeed, altitude and vertical speed data to helicopters' glass cockpit displays.
The MH-65 Dolphin serves the USCG in maritime law enforcement and short-range rescue operations. The fleet operates from 17 air stations in Pacific and Atlantic coasts, Great Lakes, Hawaii and Gulf of Mexico. The helicopters also operate from deployed cutters.
Lynn Bamford, senior vice president and general manager, Defense Solutions division, Curtiss-Wright, said: ‘Curtiss-Wright is very proud to have been selected by the USCG to provide our industry leading Air Data Computer technology for use on this important helicopter programme.’
