I/ITSEC 2018: Senior US Navy officials mull technology, testing processes

Senior US Navy personnel have called for the more rapid introduction of technology into service in order to provide the fleet with the capabilities required to meet future challenges.

Too many systems are being held back until ’98-99%’ ready before introduction into the fleet for testing and evaluation, and providing software or hardware that was at a lower level of readiness to the next generation of naval personnel would better provide for the service.

The navy personnel were speaking at a key panel discussion at I/ITSEC in Orlando, exploring ideas and topics behind an overarching ambition for the fleet.
