Quad A 2019: Hughes detects DoD anti-jamming SATCOM push

Broadband satellite network provider, Hughes expects the US Navy and US Army to concentrate their SATCOM programmes on reviewing and procuring anti-jamming capabilities, as each service pursues separate modernisation agendas.

In the case of the navy, a WAMS [wideband anti-jam modem system] RfP is expected to be issued to industry in ‘a couple of months’ according to Rick Lober, VP at Hughes defense and intelligence systems division, while the US Army continues to forge a path toward development of a WIN-T [Warfighter Information Network-Tactical], follow on.
