Link Microtek named L-3's SATCOM service centre
L-3 Narda-MITEQ has appointed Link Microtek as the UK and Ireland service centre for its satellite communications (SATCOM) equipment range, Link Microtek announced on 18 May.
L-3 Narda-MITEQ was formed earlier in 2015 when L-3's Narda Microwave East business acquired MITEQ. The new company designs and manufactures customised and standard SATCOM products such as uplink power control systems, equalisers, redundancy switchover units and frequency converters.
Link Microtek has been the exclusive representative for these SATCOM products in the UK and Ireland commercial and military markets since 2012. It has also been running its own in-house repair, testing and service facilities for a long time.
Mitch Haft, director of SATCOM sales, L-3 Narda-MITEQ, said: 'We are pleased to be building on the successful relationship that has developed between Link Microtek and MITEQ in recent years, and we are confident that our customer base in the UK and Ireland will enjoy an enhanced level of support as a result of this move.'
Steve Cranstone, managing director, Link Microtek, said: 'L-3 Narda-MITEQ manufactures a world-class range of equipment for SATCOM operators and in that market the availability of local product servicing is a key consideration.
'As an official service centre, we will be able to carry out calibration, repairs down to module level and testing at frequencies up to Ka band, while keeping turnaround times to an absolute minimum.'
