Malaysian firm Sapura is heavily involved in the communications and C2 sector for the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) and company spokesmen at LIMA provided updates on the extent of current efforts to provide the MAF with a network-centric capability, which is labelled the Unified C2 (UC2) Application.
The network-centric programme is now in Phase 1A, with Phase 1 that started in 2010 now complete. The programme has three phases in total. The idea of the extensive project is that diverse hardware assets can ‘talk the same digital language’.
