LIMA 2015: Thales focusing on regional naval and air defence sectors
Thales announced at LIMA 2015 that it has delivered the first of two further Airborne Maritime Situation and Control System (AMASCOS) mission systems to the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF). The systems will help convert four Beechcraft B200 King Air aircraft into more capable maritime surveillance platforms, with delivery due next year.
The same modular AMASCOS system is fitted on three Indonesian Navy CN235-220 maritime patrol aircraft, one of which was on display at LIMA 2015. The system allows the Indonesian aircraft to perform anti-surface warfare and anti-submarine warfare missions. These aircraft also feature a Thales Ocean Master 400 radar
