The Thales Scorpion helmet mounted sight and display (HMSD) system has been selected by Airbus Helicopters for integration with its future helicopter weapons systems, the two companies announced.

Speaking at the Farnborough International Airshow, Thales representatives said the Scorpion HMSD would now be an off-the-shelf product for all new Airbus helicopters platforms or upgrade retrofits.

The system provides full colour symbology and video for day and night missions, in addition to targeting, sensor video, and potentially degraded visual environment (DVE) imagery.
