Farnborough 2016: Harris hunts for EW upgrades

Looking internationally outside of its US market, Harris is seeking to provide airborne electronic warfare (EW) systems for legacy F-16 and F-18 aircraft.

Andrew Dunn, Harris’s VP for International Business Development for EW, told Shephard that this would focus on the ALQ-211 Advanced Integrated Defensive EW Suite (AIDEWS) for the non-US F-16 and the ALQ-214 system for the F-18s in the US and internationally.

He said the AIDEWS comes in two different configurations for the international F-16 aircraft: an internally installed system for new production-line F-16s and a pod version for legacy aircraft.
