DSEI 2017: New COMINT for Watchkeeper

Qinetiq’s AS3 COMINT system is ready to be utilised on the Watchkeeper UAV and development of the system for use on other UAVs is continuing, according to the company.

Watchkeeper is one of two UAVs that the company has reached an advanced stage of development on when it comes to integrating the COMINT payload.

Speaking to Shephard, Ian Fuller, campaign leader for airborne surveillance at Qinetiq said that the company was working on delivering the capability to another platform similar to the Watchkeeper as well as two other UAS.

The Watchkeeper design is based on the Elbit Systems Hermes 450
