Soldiers within an 82nd Airborne Division Infantry Brigade Combat Team (IBCT) are testing out a series of short-term fixes for network and communications capabilities before a combat training rotation this fall.

The experiment is part of an 18-month plan to test and learn from a variety of upgrades the service is calling the ‘integrated tactical network,’ according to the army’s networking cross-functional team (CFT) Lead Maj Gen Peter Gallagher.

‘The number one thing we’re working — right here, right now — is this “adapted by strategy”,’ Gallagher told an audience on 27 March during the AUSA Global Force conference.
