Kelvin Hughes has begun delivery of its X-Band SharpEye SxV lightweight mobile surveillance radar to an undisclosed UK customer.

Adrian Pilbeam, vice president of Kelvin Hughes announced the order for less than 10 units at the AUSA Annual exhibition in Washington where the system is being shown in the US for the first time.
SharpeEye is also conducting trials with a UK government customer.

The new radar is a 50W version of the larger 200W SharpEye and operates on algorithms designed to perform more of a land surveillance role than the original variant which could also provide littoral maritime surveillance.
