Thales to support Australian industrial capability with 10-year munitions deal
Thales is to produce and supply the Australian government with strategic munitions, under a ten-year deal worth about A$1 billion ($686.7 million).
Under the Strategic Domestic Munitions Manufacturing (SDMM) contract, Thales will work with its Australian supply chain partners to provide the munitions for the Australian Defence Force.
The long-term partnership is designed to ensure development of a sovereign industrial capability in Australia for munitions and small arms.
In 2019, Thales invested A$113 million with with its Australian suppliers in munitions and small arms.
