Singapore Airshow: Honeywell finds Asia-Pacific encouragement

Honeywell was obviously able to cater to both the commercial and military aviation sectors whilst at the Singapore Air Show, but one important announcement surrounded its role in Japan’s Kawasaki P-1 maritime patrol aircraft programme.

Honeywell announced on 16 February it will supply propulsion, environmental and safety technologies to Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) for the P-1, of which 20 aircraft have been ordered under a multi-year procurement.

Equipment includes the 131-9J auxiliary power unit, Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System, SmartTraffic traffic collision avoidance system, cabin pressure control system, engine starter bleed system valve, exterior/interior lighting, personal oxygen unit, ram air
