Qatar and Kuwait closer to fast jet deals

Last month the GCC states of Qatar and Kuwait moved one step closer to completing one of the largest fast-jet programmes in recent years with a combined $30 billion deal for F-15 and F-18 aircraft.

Announcing the approval of the two foreign military sales (FMS) on 17 November, the US DSCA revealed that Kuwait’s efforts to secure 40 F/A-18E/F aircraft with associated systems and support had been approved by the State Department. The estimated cost was stated as being $10.1 billion.
