UK delays Integrated Review update pending spending review discussions
The UK MoD has pushed back on political efforts to clarify when the forthcoming Integrated Review of Security, Defence, Development and Foreign Policy will be published.
Much to the frustration of both Conservative and Labour MPs, no specific timetable was given by Ben Wallace, Secretary of State for Defence, during a 2 November parliamentary oral questions session.
Instead, he said that the ‘implications’ of a one-year spending review – set to be completed on 25 November – are ‘currently being considered’.
The new spending review, led by the UK Treasury, will set 2021-2022 resource and capital budgets for individual government
