Nordic countries further defence cooperation
The Nordic defence ministers have adopted a vision for 2020 showing their commitment to progressing cooperation further in the coming decade as national defence budgets shrink.
‘With due consideration to our different positions with respect to NATO and EU membership and other commitments, and mindful of our different priorities for participation in Nordic defence capabilities cooperation, we wish to see this cooperation progressing further in the coming decade,’ a statement said.
The Minister’s Vision 2020, adopted at the Nordic Defence Ministerial in Helsinki on 4 December, outlines several areas of focus including further advancing of interoperability between the armed forces
