MDM 2018: Marine Corps calls for industry support

During the Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) ‘Report to Industry’ at this week’s Modern Day Marine, Col Michael Manning, portfolio manager for Ground Combat Element systems, identified several priorities within the portfolio where industry support is needed.

Some examples included low cost / high reliability rocket motors, multi-spectral imagers and rangefinders, high capacity magazines for the M27 infantry automatic rifle, and next-generation squad weapons / rifle.

‘Next generation squad weapons – If you’re not paying attention to that you should be,’ he asserted. ‘It’s going to be a huge programme for us in the future and we’re working hand-in-hand
