Germany accused of defence deficiencies by UK report
The House of Lords EU Committee has warned that Europe’s member states must ‘pull their weight’ to align their defence capabilities in light of the US declaration that its priorities now lie in the Asia-Pacific region.
Referring to this as ‘America’s wake-up call to Europe’, the committee described as ‘urgent’ EU improvement in its defence capabilities in order to ensure that it can deploy a greater proportion of its armed forces when needed.
