Zhuhai 2016: China unveils new unmanned rotorcraft
The Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) unveiled its AV500W unmanned helicopter at the 11th Zhuhai Air Show, being held this week in southern China from 1-6 November.
The AV500W was developed by AVIC’s Helicopter Research and Development Institute.
The aircraft is capable of being outfitted with a variety of sensors, weapons and surveillance equipment. Payloads include synthetic aperture radar, EO sensor, communications relay and an unidentified air-to-ground missile.
The air-to-ground missile could possibly be the 16kg TL-2 that can also be fitted on the medium-range ASN-209 fixed-wing UAV. The China National Aero-Technology Import and Export Corporation first revealed the
