Army says key FVL decisions are coming

US Army Chief of Staff Gen Mark Milley side stepped assertions that development of the new Future Vertical Lift (FVL) helicopter is slipping but acknowledged key decisions are on the horizon.

On 15 March, Milley and army secretary Mark Esper headed to Capitol Hill to brief members of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense about the service's FY19 budget request. 

When asked by Rep Mario Diaz-Balart (R-Fla) about conflicting reports on whether the FVL timeline is on schedule or has slipped, Milley said the Pentagon will be studying the timetable this summer to make key decisions.
