US Army leaders are examining ways to speed up the development and fielding for their Future Vertical Lift (FVL) programme by several years. Funding to do so, however, will not be included in the forthcoming FY2019 budget request.

In the coming days, the release of the FY18 budget request along with a five-year spending plan is expected to shed some light on funding levels for key modernisation programmes like FVL.
