Sri Lanka eyes helicopter fleet modernisation

According to local media reports, the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) harbours ambitions to acquire helicopters and UAVs worth up to LKR64.8 billion ($414.7 million). The helicopter wish list includes Russian utility platforms, trainers and VVIP rotorcraft.

The MoD is expected to reconvene a technical evaluation committee to work through the proposal, which includes ten Mi-171Sh utility helicopters.
