Seahawks needed yesterday, says frustrated Indian Navy

The Indian Navy (IN) is exasperated. Years of procrastination and delays in awarding a contract for 16 S-70B multirole helicopters (MRH), an RfP for which was released in 2008, has seen the navy repeatedly appealing to the MoD to hasten the procurement.

It is now likely the deal could be made under the US government’s Foreign Military Sales programme with a firm order for 24 aircraft, which would include the previous eight options.
