Russia stages helicopter exercises near Ukraine border

The Russian army started a new round of military exercises close to the border with Ukraine on 17 March.

Held at a training center in Yeisk, a port and a resort town in Krasnodar Krai, the exercises are aimed at training air defence forces and military helicopter units, and are expected to last until 24 March.

The exercises will include training to defend against low-flying targets and electronic jamming as well as dealing with attacks from unmanned aircraft.
