Russia to develop upgraded Ka-52 Alligator
Russia plans to develop an upgraded version of the Ka-52 Alligator attack helicopter by 2022, the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) announced on 28 May.
The MoD is currently working on a contract for the purchase of 114 upgraded Ka-52M combat helicopters in 2020. The upgraded Alligator will have new power supply and target detection systems.
The Ka-52 Alligator is a next-generation reconnaissance and combat helicopter designed to provide battle management coordination and target acquisition for other helicopters for air-to-air, air-to-surface, reconnaissance and radio jamming missions.
