Rockwell to support US CH-47F CAAS
Rockwell Collins has won a follow-on service and support contract for its Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS) on the US Army’s CH-47F helicopter fleet.
The contract covers 1,910 units by 2021.
CAAS integrates multiple communications, navigation and mission subsystems through its flexible Flight2 system.
The system uses common, reusable processing elements in each piece of hardware and an open systems architecture based on commercial standards. The hardware components are designed to provide lower life cycle costs and reduce expenditures for supportability and technology insertion.
The company provides efficient and cost effective repairs from its Atlanta Service Center to shorten repair turnaround time and maximise helicopter operation.
