MD refutes Afghan MD 530F criticisms

MD Helicopters has robustly responded to criticisms by the Afghan Air Force’s (AAF) ‘most decorated pilot’ about the performance of the MD 530F.

The AAF has 11 remaining MD 530F Cayuse Warrior light attack helicopters out of a dozen delivered this year. Since 2011 it has also had six MD 530F training helicopters (one was lost to an improvised explosive device [IED] in 2013) that will receive armour protection and weapons by year’s end.

The criticims by Col Qalandar Shah Qalandari was published in the New York Times on 26 September.
