Leonardo introduces TH-119 helicopter
Leonardo-Finmeccanica has introduced the TH-119, a military training variant of the AW119 single engine helicopter, the company announced on 16 May.
The aircraft is specifically designed for military training customers, primarily to target the US Navy's Advanced Helicopter Trainer programme.
TH-119 has a dual-display Genesys Aerospace cockpit providing the flexibility to instruct from either seat. The cabin is also configured with an additional 180-degree adjustable trainer observation seat at the base of the instrument panel giving the occupant a full view of the cockpit.
The cockpit is night vision device (NVD) compatible with a low-profile instrument panel for maximum pilot visibility. The aircraft has re-enforced skids with replaceable skid shoes, cargo hook and hoist options, and a five-fuel cell option that provides more than five hours of flight time with pressure refueling port allowing for less downtime to refuel as well as 'hot' refueling while the engine is still running.
