Indonesian president flies AgustaWestland

Indonesia’s military has chosen AgustaWestland to supply three VVIP helicopters to help transport the country’s president, vice-president and state officials.

The platform being procured by the Indonesian Air Force (TNI-AU) is the AW101 medium helicopter, revealed AVM Agus Supriatna, TNI-AU chief of staff.

‘Having properly assessed [the requirement], we have decided to buy the VVIP helicopters. This is the result of our study.’ Procuring such presidential helicopters was considered a priority under the air force’s 2015-19 strategic plan,' Agus stated on 25 November.
