India raining with helicopter requirements

India’s MoD has released an RfI to procure 111 naval utility helicopters (NUH) along with two flight simulators and one maintenance simulator under the ‘strategic partnership’ plan that focuses on ‘Make in India’. 

The twin-engine NUHs to replace ageing Chetaks should be able to perform search and rescue, medevac, communication, anti-piracy, anti-terrorism, humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, surveillance and targeting missions, stated the RfI.

The document includes information on infrastructure including transfer of technology, associated shore support, performance-based logistics, training, documentation, spares package, weapons and sensors.
