ILA 2016: Boeing reaches for heavy lift

The German Heavy Transport (STH) helicopter programme is a priority for Boeing, which is putting forward its Chinook CH-47F twin rotor helicopter.

The numbers needed under STH are thought to be about 60 aircraft and the budget has been set at some €3 billion.

For STH, Boeing highlighted the H-47F and the H-47F-ER (extended range) variant, the latter of which has been available since 2014, with more than 350 and 80 deliveries respectively.
