Edge Aerodynamix has brought its BladeGuard rotor blade protection system to an American market for the first time following its success in Oceania and Africa.

The integrated conformal vortex generator (CVG) system has supplemental type certificates (STCs) from the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) for the Robinson R22, and is undergoing CASA STC for the R44.

Other platforms being tested on include the Enstrom 280 and 480, the Eurocopter AS350, the Bell 206, Sikorsky S-61 and Hughes 500. The company is currently looking to receive certification from the FAA for a variety of Robinson aircraft.
