HAL receives Dhruv order, increases sales

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is in receipt of an order for 32 Dhruv Mk III helicopters, according to a contract signed on 30 March, buoying its FY2016 sales to their highest ever.

The deal is worth $1.2 billion and covers an equal number of Dhruv Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) for both the Indian Navy (IN) and Indian Coast Guard (ICG).

Integral to the sale is a five-year performance-based logistics contract for the ICG, the first time HAL has adopted this type of support contract.
