Greece seeks MH-60R helicopters
The US State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale of MH-60R helicopters to Greece.
In a deal worth $600 million, Greece has requested up to seven MH-60R multi-mission helicopters equipped with ten APS-l 53(V) multi-mode radars, T700 GE-401 C engines, Airborne Low Frequency Systems, AN/AAS-44C(V) Multi-Spectral Targeting Systems and Embedded GPS/Inertial Navigation Systems with Selective Availability/Anti-Spoofing Module.
Other equipment includes AN/SSQ-36/53/62 sonobuoys; AGM-114 M36-E9 Captive Air Training Missiles, AGM-114Q Hellfire training missiles; Advanced Precision Kill Weapons System rockets; MK 54 torpedoes; M-2400 crew served guns; and GAU-21 crew served guns. Communications, night vision and IFF systems are also included in the package.
The MH-60R will provide Greece with the ability to perform anti-surface and anti-submarine warfare missions, vertical replenishment, search and rescue, and communications relay.
If the sale goes ahead the principal contractor will be Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems.
