Farnborough 2012: Raytheon unveils pilot SA system

Raytheon will use the Farnborough International Airshow to unveil its wearable ‘Aviation Warrior’ system that gives helicopter pilots a level of situational awareness when away from the cockpit.

The system, which is currently being developed under funding from the US Army, comprises a central processor and touch screen display, which can be worn on the wrist or thigh.

A Raytheon spokesman said the system was designed to be a ‘leap forward in dismounted situational awareness’ providing helicopter pilots with critical information when they are away from the cockpit.
